Comprehensive Analysis of Peanut Butter Processing Line
The starting process of a peanut butter processing line is shelling. This step is designed to remove the hard shell of the peanut and remove the edible kernel inside. For small-scale production, shelling can be done manually, but for large-scale production, it is more efficient to use specialized shelling equipment. The de-shelled peanut kernels provide a solid foundation for subsequent processing.
Next comes the roasting process, which not only enhances the flavor of the peanuts, but also makes them easier to grind. During the roasting process, the heat is carefully monitored to avoid overcooking or burning the peanuts, so that their natural oils and aroma are kept at their best.
After roasting, the peanuts are cooled. This step helps prevent overheating and ensures the peanuts’ stability in subsequent processing. Proper cooling also prepares the peanuts for the peeling process.
The peeling process is critical to obtaining a smooth textured peanut butter. The use of a peanut peeler effectively separates the peanut from the red shell. However, it is worth noting that the red outer shell is rich in nutrients such as vitamin E, niacin, iron, zinc, etc. Therefore, in some cases, it may be considered to retain or recycle this part of the shell.
After peeling, the peanuts enter the grinding stage. Through the peanut butter machine, the peanuts are processed into a smooth paste, which is the basis of peanut butter. During the grinding process, the peanuts are broken down and oils are released, creating a homogenous mixture.
To ensure the smoothness and texture of the peanut butter, the ground paste goes into a degassing tank for processing. The degassing tank helps remove air bubbles that may have formed during the grinding process, enhancing the creaminess of the final product.
After degassing, the peanut butter is transferred to a storage tank and left to cool to room temperature. Properly cooled peanut butter has better stability and can extend shelf life.
The final step is filling. Using a filling machine, the exact amount of peanut butter needed can be dispensed into jars or containers. The packaging process ensures an airtight seal to maintain freshness and protect the product from outside contamination.
